- With a background in sales, Josselin worked for several years as a real estate broker, assisting numerous clients with property transactions. This experience enabled him to understand the expectations of buyers and sellers, as well as the often complex issues involved in buying a property.
- At the same time, his personal life has often led him to carry out a number of renovations, both to his own home and to that of friends, even going so far as to renovate his first triplex. This hands-on contact with construction and renovation has strengthened his interest in buildings and given him solid technical confidence.
- The idea of becoming an inspector emerged from when he attended inspections as a real estate broker, he often found himself thinking: “You know how to do that. You’ve seen it all before, the logic, the knowledge … and you’re asking the same questions as the inspector!”
- This realisation was the catalyst that prompted him to change course and become a building inspector.
- Over time, Josselin felt the need to leave the broker side of real estate transactions. Building inspection was a natural career choice.
- Today, he combines his real estate skills to offer inspections that are rigorous, clear and accessible.
- What he particularly likes about his job is the variety: in the morning, he’s crawling through a crawl space; in the afternoon, he’s in front of his computer, writing a detailed, structured report. Every building has its own story, every inspection is unique – this variety gives him real pleasure every day.
- Inspecting a property is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re going to find!” he laughs.
- When he’s not on a roof or in front of his computer, Josselin takes advantage of his free time to go snorkelling. It’s fair to say that when he’s working, he works mostly above ground … and when he’s not, he prefers to go below ground!
- Josselin is a graduate of the Institut Grasset building inspection programme. A fully insured inspector, he is a certified member of the APCHQ. He offers his inspection services in the greater Montreal area.
