Interior Inspection

Protecting the Inside of Your Future Home, One Detail at a Time

At Mose Home Inspection, we know that the true condition of a home is often found within its walls.

That’s why our interior inspection is designed to identify the warning signs you can’t always see before they become costly surprises.

What to Expect from an Interior Home Inspection

During an interior inspection, your certified Mose inspector will:

  • Inspect the ceilings, walls, and flooring for visible damage, water infiltration, mold risks, and signs of poor ventilation
  • Ensure that windows and doors are secure, properly sealed, and functional
  • Evaluate the condition of plumbing fixtures, faucets and visible piping checking for leaks or corrosion
  • Check for functional water pressure and inspect the shut-off valves and the water heater
  • Examine the foundation (if visible), especially in the basement or crawl space, for signs of cracks or water intrusion
  • Inspect stairs, handrails, and guardrails for safety
  • Inspect cabinets and countertops in the kitchen, bathrooms and powder rooms
  • We follow the APCHQ Standard of Practice to ensure every inspection is done thoroughly and professionally — with respect for your future home and your peace of mind.

Sellers — We Respect Your Home
We understand that your home is your private space.

Our team always works with care and discretion, minimizing any disturbance during the inspection. We never move furniture or personal items, and we treat every property with the same respect we’d expect in our own homes.

We understand that your home is your private space.

  • A general home inspection is a non-invasive, visual examination of accessible areas of the home. This means we don’t remove wall panels, vent covers, or light switch plates, and we don’t move large items like cabinets or stored boxes or personal belongings. Our goal is to evaluate what’s visible and accessible — safely and respectfully.
  • Our inspectors are trained to identify defects — including visible cracks, water damage, poor installations, and signs of plumbing or electrical problems. While we can’t uncover every issue, we provide a detailed assessment of current conditions of the home on the day of the inspection.
  • When necessary, we may recommend further evaluations or investigations — such as mold testing, structural assessments, plumbing scans, or indoor air quality analysis.

How We Conduct an Interior Inspection

Our non-invasive approach still reveals a lot. Here’s how we carefully inspect the key areas inside your future home:
Basements & Crawl Spaces
We examine these areas carefully for structural issues, foundation cracks, or water intrusion revealing problems that can affect the entire home.

  • Foundation condition (if visible)
  • Crawlspaces (if safe and accessible)
  • Structural components (joists, beams, posts)

Ceilings, Flooring & Walls

We examine ceilings, flooring and walls for water stains, paint condition, visible cracks, or signs of insect activity. These can indicate ventilation problems, previous leaks, or more serious structural issues.

Windows & Doors

We check accessible windows and doors to ensure they open, close, and seal properly. Improper alignment or movement may indicate underlying structural shifting. We also assess garage doors and safety mechanisms on automatic openers to ensure they meet basic safety standards.

Plumbing Fixtures &
Water Pressure

We test faucets, sinks, toilets, and showers for function, visible leaks, and signs of wear or poor maintenance. We also check:

  • Visible supply and waste piping
  • Water shut-off valves
  • Water heaters (including safety valve, connections and installation
  • General water pressure throughout the home

Additional Interior Elements

  • In addition to structural and plumbing checks, we also inspect key safety and comfort elements, including:

  • Staircases, guardrails and handrails
  • Mechanical ventilation, fans and ducts
  • Trip and headroom hazards
